Friday 8 June: One group staying in Taupo and the other group staying in Napier
Saturday 9 June: All staying at the Chateau on Saturday night
Outline of plan: Taupo group leave Taupo to arrive in Napier around 10am. Napier group meet at a cafe (yet to be decided) at 8.30am for breakfast.
Napier group then travel to connect to meet group coming from Taupo. Fuel up and travel in convoy over the Gentle Annie to Taihape. Once in Taihape we intend to travel up state highway 1 to Waiouru and over to Ohakune for lunch. After lunch a visit to Horopito Motors and then on up to the Whakapapa ski fields, having dinner and spending the night at the Chateau. Sunday morning breakfast at the Chateau the travel down to Turangi and back to Taupo via the western bays road. Once in Taupo everyone departs for home. Times, and stops for lunch, fuel etc are flexible.
